Over the summer, Visual Terrain hired three employees in its Los Angeles office.
We wish to welcome to the team:
- Kate Furst, Lighting Designer
Kate joins Visual Terrain with ten years as a Lighting Design professional, designing architectural solutions, drama, musical theater, dance, and opera. She has designed for a variety of spaces, ranging from theaters to night clubs and bars, programming a variety of lighting consoles using both static and robotic instrumentation, and working with untrained and union crews. - Laurie Murphy, Production & Design Assistant
Laurie comes to Visual Terrain from the University of Oklahoma College of Architecture, where she earned a bachelor of arts in Interior Design. Laurie interned with Visual Terrain in the summer of 2011, when she contributed to the lighting design and installation/focus for the House of Blues Sunset Strip and an office broadcast center in Santa Monica. Laurie’s skills include hand drawing and AutoCAD, Max 3D, and Adobe Photoshop. - Ryan Bona, Lighting Designer
Ryan joins Visual Terrain from Cal Arts, where he earned a master’s degree in Theatrical Lighting Design. He has designed the lighting for shows including The Missile Man of Peenemunde at studio/stage in Los Angeles, and A Splendid Death, Simple Magic, and Wounded at the California Institute of the Arts. He served as assistant lighting designer for productions such as Twist: An American Musical at the Pasadena Playhouse and Gruesome Playground Injuries at New York’s Second Stage.
