Senior Lighting Designer

Marihan joins Visual Terrain as Senior Lighting Designer, following a prestigious career that includes previous stints with Walt Disney Imagineering, EXP, Wynn Design and Development, and John Levy Lighting Production. As a freelancer, she has worked with The Nevada Ballet Company, The Nevada Conservatory Theatre, Lincoln Center Festival, Camp Chipinaw, and the Alexandria Opera House. Marihan worked for 5 years as the Lighting Director and Resident Lighting Designer at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center at The New Library of Alexandria in Alexandria, Egypt.
Marihan’s education includes an MFA in Lighting Design from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a BFA in Interior/Theatre Design from the College of Fine Arts at the University of Alexandria, Egypt, and the Gilbert Hemsley Lighting Internship, where she worked with Lincoln Center, The Royal Shakespeare Company, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Tony Award Designers.
Recently, Marihan was named as part of the team that received a Thea Award for Brand Experience, for her work on Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World. Her award-winning career includes a Fulbright Award in Applied, Fine and Performing Arts, and The Gilbert Hemsley Lighting Program. As a grad student, she received the USITT Architecture’s commission Merit Award, SETC Lighting Design Award, 1st place, UNLV Graduate and Professional Research Award, and the Fred Foster (ETC) Student Mentorship Program.
Marihan lives in Orlando, Florida.
